The West Esplanade Veternary ClinicThe West Esplanade Veternary Clinic provides medical, surgical, nutritional, behavioral, and general wellness care for Birds, Ferrets, Reptiles, Rabbits, Guniea Pigs (and other small rodents) as well as for unique pets such as sugar gliders and hedgehogs. Our experienced staff and veterinary team have over 25 years of combined hands-on experience in the field of Avian and Exotic medicine. Dr. Rich has over 20 years of individual experience in the field of Avian and Exotic animal medicine and surgery. He prides himself in having the ability to directly contact world renowned authorities on cases that go beyond resolution with normal consultation and research. Dr. Rich has lectured at a wide variety of veterinary and avicultural conferences and has been featured in several Veterinary texts and periodicals during his practice career. (See Bio below). Dr. Burke graduated from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine with the intention of going into Avian and Exotic Veterinary practice. She worked with Dr. Rich two summers prior to her Senior year, and actually spent her last eight weeks of school completing a preceptorship at his clinic. She hopes to someday be board certified in avian and exotic mammal medicine.
