Heartworms in the heart of a 3 year old Ferret that died from fatal heartworm disease.
If you see any of the following symptoms, be sure to call us immediately: extreme lethargy, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, seizures, bleeding from an open wound for longer than 5 minutes or a broken exposed bone. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Should you have an after hours avian / exotic pet emergency, we advise that you call Southeast Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Hospital at 504-219-0444. They will contact Dr. Rich or his associate to help you with your exotic pet’s emergency.
